In 2011 my technical co-founder Ilker Cengiz and I teamed up to build Pikz, an iOS app that lets you bookmark real things. Use Pikz to take a photo of a cafe you want to remember, a concert poster you're passing by or a friend's book you'd like to read and create lists to remember them easily.
When I noticed I take more notes by taking "pictures" I realized I needed a better way to curate all the random photographs I had in my photo album. With Pikz I designed the user-interface in a way that let's you swipe left for the curated lists, and swipe right for your uncategorized pictures. While the camera remained in the center. Sound familiar? Yup, we had built this interface before Snapchat 👻
