bits is how i remember
2005 – 2015
A TRIBUTE TO MY 20'S. REMEMBERING SELF-PORTRAITS I'VE TAKEN OVER THE PAST DECADE. AND REMEMBERING THEM THE WAY I GENERALLY RECALL THE PAST, AS A BLUR, IN BITS & PIECES.

"I feel terrible when I shoot with a digital camera, but today I noticed that if I die young there won't be any photos of me smiling posing for the camera with my friends to use for the funeral. A friend of mine a couple of years back, when I insisted on taking the photos for them (yet again) he lost his patience and yelled 'go get in the frame, you might die (ölücenmölücen) and we'll need a photo of you to remember (you)' I laughed and didn't take it seriously, but looking back on my archieves, man i don't have a single decent photo of myself. Facebook photography doesn't count because they're hideous, with their low resolution and inattentive tipsy compositions posted over and OVER again. I want hardcore, under the pretty sun, broad grins, polka dotted skirts and pony tales type of photos. But JUST ONE of them. ONE photo. No other frame for that moment should exist so that I can treasure that ONE photo and relive the moment every time I look at it. It's the way I prefer it. And I seem to be one of the very few who still do." 2009
